KMTC local charges in Vietnam are the fees KMTC collects at the Vietnamese port on top of ocean freight: terminal handling (THC), the B/L or delivery order fee, seal, telex release, manifest filing and, on some trades, a container imbalance charge (CIC).

Before you book KMTC from or to Vietnam: checklist

Most surprises on KMTC local charges come from five points. Check them on the booking, not after the vessel sails.

Confirm the port. Port-specific rows exist for Ho Chi Minh City, so the discharge terminal changes the bill.
Check the currency on each line. KMTC bills USD and VND on this tariff; USD items are converted at the carrier’s exchange rate on the invoice date.
Ask who pays CIC and cleaning. CIC is on this tariff, so agree with the consignee who carries it.
Declare special equipment early. 5 rows apply only to reefer, open top, flat rack or out-of-gauge boxes.
Count the free days. Free time is set per booking; get it in writing before the vessel arrives.
